Photograph album; an album of photographs compiled to commemorate the cutover of the Owaka automatic telephone exchange, 1983. The album consists of pieces of white card, secured together with blue ribbon.
The photographs included were taken at a ceremony to mark Owaka's switch from a manual to automatic telephone exchange. People included in the photographs are identified as: Mr B Smith, Chairman of the Town Board; Mr G T McPherson, Engineer-in-Chief, Post Office Headquarters; Mr B W Finn, District Engineer; Mr R M Gray, Member of Parliament for Clutha; Mrs D K Hollows, Postmistress and local school children Rhiane Smith and Merrin Kopua.
